Introduction of Cf8m Ball Valve

A CF8M ball valve is designed for use as a control mechanism in liquid and gas flow systems. It is made of an alloy of metals that are represented by the letters in its name. ‘C’ is for ‘corrosion-resistance’ while ‘F’ represents a blend of iron, nickel, and chromium in different percentages. The number ‘8’ denotes the carbon content in the alloy and ‘M’ stands for Molybdenum.

The combination of these metals yields a stainless steel CF8M ball valve also known as a 316 ball valve. Each alloy component contributes different attributes but as a whole, this type of valve has high tensile strength and is very durable. Subsequently, it can handle high pressure and high-temperature fluid operations with utmost efficiency.

The addition of Molybdenum in the alloy makes it highly resistant to corrosion from acids, halides, and chlorides like those found in seawater. As a result, a CF8M ball valve performs exceptionally well in the flow management of corrosive substances. It is because of this feature that it is also referred to as a marine stainless steel ball valve.

Introduction of Cf8m Ball Valve

Chemical Plants – the manufacture of chemicals such as sulfuric acid requires flow management components that are precise and resistant to corrosion. A CF8M ball valve easily fulfills both criteria.

Food and Pharmaceutical Industries – high standards of hygiene are required in food and pharmaceutical production. A CF8M valve is ideal for such applications as it is non-corrosive and presents no risk of contamination during fluid system control.

Paper Mill – the Kraft method used in the milling process involves the flow of corrosive chemical reagents and by-products like different colors of liquors. Applying a 316 stainless steel ball valve in the system ensures the integrity of each product line with no risk of valve degradation.

Marine water systems – the chloride content in marine water makes it corrosive to most metals. As such, systems that come into contact with marine water would work best with a marine stainless steel ball valve.
